Gaven Wicks
Managing Director

Gaven Wicks is a former decorated New South Wales Police Sergeant of 25 years, conducting duties as a Criminal Investigator (Drugs and Homicide), Tactical and Riot Operations, as well as Counter Terrorism operations and operational risk assessments. Gaven further served as the Security Coordinator to the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and spent many years working in the inner city suburbs of Sydney dealing with street level violence, drugs and gangs. It has taken this lifelong training, knowledge and experience to write the Security Operations programs offered by Strike in consultation with a select group of highly trained individuals.

Stuart SIMMONDS
Senior Trainer and Assessor

Stuart entered security industry in 1998 as a Crowd Controller having worked at venues across Perth, Albany and Exmouth.  He has held positions as a Gazetted Shire Ranger in Exmouth,  Advanced Ambulance Care Volunteer in Exmouth Sub Centre.

Stuart has also worked in Immigration Detention in operational and management roles and has extended his professional development Chief Warden and Security and WHS Manager for Perth Hotel Group.

Further security work completed in Gatehouse Operations, Mobile Patrols, Static and Foot Patrols and has further extensive Crowd Control Experience and currently leading CC team in Mandurah on weekends.

Stuart has an impressive 25+ years of training roles broad range of quals Dip Leadership and Management, Security and Risk Assessment, WHS, First Aid, Multi Organisation experience.

Irshad KHAN
tRAINER AND ASSESSOR

Irshad, originally from Pakistan, has lived and worked throughout Pakistan, England and now Australia. Irshad is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and English.
Professionally, Irshad is a business graduate, completing his MBA degree in England. Irshad also has completed his qualifications in Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), Conflict Management, Certificate II in Security Operations and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner. He has his SIA License (Security Industry Authority) UK and has had four years of experience as a security officer in UK night clubs, retail outlets and construction sites.
Irshad also has many years of experience working for Sports Direct head quarters in Shirebrook where he had the opportunity to provide security services to the owner of Sports Direct and the owner of Newcastle United Football Club, Mike Ashley.
Here in Australia (and more relevantly Western Australia), Irshad has had many years of experience working and being solely responsible for managing security services at several mine sites.
Irshad brings a wealth of security experience and expertise to Strike and has some cracking great stories to tell from his years in security. We are so excited to have him as part of the Strike Training family.

Nick KINSELLA
Consultant

With over decade of experience in the security industry, I have consistently demonstrated leadership and expertise, earning management roles in nearly all of my positions. I have extensive experience as a security officer and crowd controller, consultant and investigator managing multiple venues, operations locations and staff to ensure safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

My background also includes consulting and private investigations, where I have provided specialised services to individual clients and assisted and co-ordinated state and federal level operational contracts. Additionally, I have undertaken emergency management roles within the security sector, coordinating responses to critical incidents and ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies

For the past two years, I have been dedicated to training and assessing future security professionals as part of Strike Training and Consulting. My role involves equipping learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and practical experience to meet industry standards and excel in their careers. My commitment to professionalism, compliance, and continuous improvement ensures that I contribute to the development of a highly competent and reliable security workforce.

Amelia Mcintosh
Administration

We are so excited to welcome Amelia who has joined Strike Training and Consulting’s team in Administration.

Amelia has been a fantastic addition and brings wonderful admin skills and a fun flavour to our team.

In a FURTHER bonus to our students … Amelia has a strong and diverse background in security, which will only benefit our security students with any industry questions they may have.

Amelia’s experience includes positions in general security, roles in customer service and senior positions within businesses in fast paced, security focused environments.
